We were set the task of creating a simple 2D game with platform elements. Ours is called The Hybrid Heresy. All assets were created in piskelapp and then imported into Stencyl. We wanted to create a simple 2D platformer with enemies that must be avoided to progress. We chose more realistic and stylised pixel art graphics to set the tone of the story we created.

We designed some simplistic characters in Adobe Illustrator, then created the assets in piskelapp. These characters were made with simple white and grey tones as it depicts the environment and state of the world that they are in.

These storyboards were hand-drawn to create a level layout so that we could use them as the base for our level design in-game.

Demonstration about the game mechanics and how it is familiar to other 2D platformers.
